Terms of Service
Effective July 2, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Gydepoint, a mobile application operated by OBLYT LLC (“OBLYT,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using Gydepoint, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The service
Gydepoint provides outdoor intelligence for activities such as hunting, fishing, foraging, camping, backpacking, and off-road/overland travel, including location scoring, map layers, route and trip planning, and outdoor forecasts. Features and data coverage may change over time.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Gydepoint. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Notify us of any unauthorized use.
Subscriptions and billing
Gydepoint offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (“Pro”) sold through the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the subscription renews automatically at the then-current price. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the app, including by reverse-engineering it, interfering with its operation, attempting to access it in unauthorized ways, scraping or redistributing its data, or using it to violate any law or the rights of others.
Outdoor safety and accuracy — important
Gydepoint provides informational estimates and mapping data to help you plan. It is not a substitute for official information, professional judgment, or your own preparation. In particular:
- Scores, suggested spots, routes, terrain, and forecasts are estimates and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong.
- You are solely responsible for verifying hunting, fishing, and access regulations, seasons, licenses, land ownership, and boundaries with the relevant official authorities before you act.
- You are responsible for your own safety. Outdoor and backcountry travel is inherently risky. Check current conditions, carry appropriate equipment, and do not rely on the app for navigation or safety in an emergency.
You use the app and act on its information at your own risk.
Intellectual property
The app, its software, design, and original content are owned by OBLYT LLC and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. Third-party and public data displayed in the app remains subject to its own sources and licenses.
Third-party services
The app relies on third-party services and data sources (including Apple, Google, Mapbox, RevenueCat, and public data providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OBLYT LLC and its members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any injury, loss, or damage related to outdoor activity. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five U.S. dollars.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OBLYT LLC from claims arising out of your use of the app or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
